Question # 1: What kinds of materials can the Sidewinder CNC machine cut/engrave?
Answer: The Sidewinder CNC Machine is designed to cut wood, plastics such as Acrylic and HDPE (High Density
Polyethylene), and soft metals such as Aluminum, Brass, and Copper.
Question # 2: Can your
machine cut or engrave steel or stainless steel?
Answer: The Sidewinder CNC is a lightweight bench-top design
and therefore is not designed to cut steel and stainless steel.
Question # 3: What is the
difference between footprint size and cutting area?
Answer: The footprint dimensions are the physical size
of the machine. In other words how much space you need on a workbench or table for the machine. The cutting area describes
the physical limits of what the machine can reach to cut or engrave. For example, the 26" x 16" machine cut cut or engrave
any size part within those dimensions.
Question # 4: How long will it take to get my machine?
Answer: All machines are built per order. Lead time usually runs around 2 to 4 weeks. All machines are fully
assembled and throughly tested so that you can be assured that your machine is working properly.

# 5: Will my machine be hard to set up once I receive it?
Answer: No. There is only some minor assembly needed.
No special tools are required. Each Sidewinder CNC machine comes with a configuration set-up sheet to show you how to set
up the software to run your machine as well as with some sample programs.

Question # 7: What does Z-axis clearance mean?
Answer: The Z-axis clearance
is the space between the top of the work table and the bottom of the Z-axis enclosure.
